Body Gesture
Another Sunday night, another night of editing, preparing for projects, listening to music and chai tea. Last night I felt really in the mood to go out and just dance, dance til I watched the sun come up. Blue I'm single, red I'm taken and green I'm free for some fun. It reminded me of a type of club code that's used with glow in the dark bracelets, back home. It was easy to resist the urge to go out, as Belleville and it's options of MJ's or a strip club just didn't appeal to me, at least not at the time anyway. With work in the morning and a busy next few days, responsibility won.
Seems to be a trend this semester. Responsibility. So, I drove around Belleville with a friend, chatting about life over McDonald's milkshakes, hoping something exciting would happen and we could run with our cameras. The cameras stayed in the bag, it wasn't dancing, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.
I'd had a pretty full day. Working, running through woods and wading through little ravines to get close enough to train tracks and forensics guys to get a picture of the alleged derailing of a train. They announced today that a 55-year-old man was struck and killed by a train and the word is he jumped. Poor guy. Brings this life of mine into some serious focus sometimes. It also makes me realize how I’m really not a fan of shooting spot news. There's a rush that can understand, but at the end of the day when that adrenaline high wears off, I feel like a voyeuristic vulture. I think it’s probably my absolute worst thing I have to have to do. Ah such is the job description though.
Anyway, as my days often go I went from one extreme to the next, from train tracks to the rink to watch the Belleville Bulls play. I'll save that for another blog.
