Kennedy Lucille Loretta

I AM AN AUNTIE!!! Almost 10 days after her expected due date, Kennedy Lucille Loretta O'Neil finally decided to grace us with her presence on November 9th, 2009 weighing in at 9 pounds even. Born on a historic day marking the 20th anniversary of the falling of the Berlin wall, little Kennedy becomes a part of our families history. She is the first of four generations of women; first great grandchild, first grandchild and first daughter.

She is beautiful. I honestly can say that I had no idea what it was like to hold and love something fully, until I held her in my arms. I can only imagine what her mom and dad feel. One of my favorite is the picture of my dad seeing his granddaughter for the first time. We were not allowed in the hospital to visit, because at the time the H1N1 flu was a huge concern and peoples level of fear of it was at an all time high. So, when he got to finally come out and see her and just touch her face, he cried in between his smile and his laughter. She doesn't know it yet but she has him wrapped. She will have us all wrapped.

So, in the end my extended trip home to meet her turned, into a 48 hour span of being able to stare at her perfect little face, before grabbing a plane back to life in Ontario. It was well worth it. She is my only niece and I am her only aunt. My little special K ♥
